Hill Top Pony Club---- "Achieving successes on top together"
Hill Top Pony Club (HTPC) started in the Liberty Hill area (north west of Austin) in 2007. The club base is still located in the Leander-Liberty Hill area with members ranging from Manor in the east to Salado in the north. We are a small club, with members ranging in age from seven-year-olds to adults. We use different locations in our area for mounted meetings based on the topics we are targeting. Members must provide their own mounts for meetings. Riding, however, is not a prerequisite for participating in one of our meetings, as Hill Top provides many horsemanship based opportunities.
Our goal is to foster the love of learning and the development of good horse management skills. Pony Club is the largest equestrian educational organization in the world. The "idea" of Pony Club started in Great Britain in 1928. Since then, Pony Club has expanded to over 31 countries with an estimated membership of more than 130,000. The United States Pony Club, Inc. (national umbrella organization for HTPC) has over 500 registered clubs and riding centers. The breadth of the Pony Club organization provides a wealth of equestrian knowledge, expertise, and opportunity for our local club. Hill Top Pony Club actively engages with other clubs in our immediate region, Rio Grande, as well as clubs in other regions. Working within this network, we have discovered sources of similar interest, new ideas and innovative ways of looking at problems. HTPC encourages its members to participate in Regional and National events including rallies*, camps and clinics.
The foundation of the Pony Club are education, safety, sportsmanship, stewardship, and along the way, fun! Pony Club offers a way for any horse enthusiast to participate, including Western Dressage and Trail, Gymkhana, Fox Hunting, Eventing, Dressage and Show Jumping. The skills, habits and values instilled through the horsemanship lens encouraged by Pony Club translate into every part of a member's life.
*Rallies are staged around a specific style of competition (showing jumping, dressage, etc.) and are team events. Teams are judged on not only their riding abilities but on their safe turnout and barn management skills.
Pony Club operates on a volunteer basis. Parents and equestrian professionals donate their time and expertise to help youth members on their knowledge pathways but the members are encouraged to study, seek answers and support the club through volunteering, education outreach and brand ambassadors.

USPC Pledge:
"As a member of the United States Pony Clubs, I stand for the best in sportsmanship as well as in horsemanship. I shall compete for the enjoyment of the game well played and take winning or losing in stride, remembering that without good manners and good temper, sport loses its cause for being. I shall endeavor to maintain the best tradition of the ancient and noble skill of horsemanship, always treating my horse with consideration due a partner. "
